Direct Care Workers care for individuals of all ages who have mental and/or physical disabilities or a chronic illness. Staff will provide supportive and crisis intervention services to consumers, provide a range of basic services, including help with bathing, dressing and grooming. Some may help with home management tasks such as grocery shopping and preparing meals.  They may also provide transportation for consumer appointments.

The role of a direct care worker is to help individuals with a disability live as independently as possible, reach their goals, develop skills and provide support when required.   They provide for the safety and comfort of consumers, providing companionship and assisting with activities of daily living.   This position works in either an adult foster care home or will provide supports to clients in their home. 

Home Managers work in a group home and/or supported living environment that provides full-care services for mentally and/or physically disabled residents.  The home  manager will supervise staff and coordinate all services related to the client under the supervision of the executive director.  Responsibilities include skills training and support for individuals, as well as supervision of staff and facility maintenance.
